Dr. Benito Villanueva
M.D., FACOG
Medical Director
With well over 30 years in the infertility field, Dr. Villanueva’s impressive track record has earned him the respect of his fellow Reproductive Endocrinologists and the admiration of his patients. In 1982, Dr. Villanueva marked an important milestone in the field of IVF. Only one year after the first successful IVF in the U.S. and three years after the first successful IVF in the world, he became the first fertility specialist to perform a successful IVF cycle in San Diego. His vast experience in IVF is of great value in many of the complicated IVF cycles that we routinely do.
The U.S. News and World Report has rated him as one of the best in his field since 1995. Dr. Villanueva is one of the few physicians licensed to practice both in the U.S. and Mexico. He spends time on both sides of the U.S. and Mexico border, serving patients at state-of-the-art healthcare clinics. Many of his patients fly in from South America and Europe because of his expertise and sterling reputation.

Molly Chu-Chen
M.S., M.H.A., TS (ABB)
Founder & Chief Embryologist
Molly has been an embryologist since 1999, when she first began her career in Taiwan after completing her internship studies at the National University of Singapore and National Taiwan University. After obtaining her first Master’s degree in Medical Sciences at Taipei Medical University in 2001, she worked as a laboratory supervisor. She was responsible for managing patients' treatment cycles, numerous daily duties in and around the laboratory, and many more.
In 2010, Molly decided to move to the United States to pursue her career and make an impact in the U.S. healthcare field. She started by managing Embryology and Andrology laboratories at several IVF clinics. As an Associate Director at one of the biggest IVF Centers in Southern California, Molly helped increase case numbers from 10 cycles per month to 200 cycles in just a few years. After working there for nearly ten years, Molly is proud and honored to have been able to help countless couples complete their family. Her first-hand exposure to the difficulties of infertility has led her to understand the reasons why she chose this career path.
As a mother of two, Molly understands the value and possibility of life within each embryo. She credits her high success rates to her specialty in low-medication IVF treatment. The unique method of low-medication IVF treatment would benefit many patients who are concerned about their health.
“To have the opportunity to help people and be a part of their journey is priceless and rewarding,” says Molly. “Labryo is different. We see every patient as a real person, and we pride ourselves on being a part of this difficult journey. We believe in creating a safe and warm environment through kind and understanding staff. I like to remind my patients that everyone faces challenges in their life, and this is yours, but I will be alongside you until you succeed. If you never give up, I will never give up.”
